I am in awe of these needlepoint designs from Frank Lloyd Wright.

Soooo good.
A few months ago the gamelan played a concert for the Indonesian Consulate. They were launching a Batik design contest and this was the opening ceremony. There was food, music, traditional Javanese dancing (which if you’ve never seen, is incredible), and a batik fashion show. There was also a display of Indonesian batik art. I was immediately drawn to the batik masks. There is something so beautifully mysterious about them.

Navajo blankets. Everything about the choices that these artists made is so inspiring to me. Gives me a lot of ideas for needlepoint! Also something about writing this in conjunction with these images has given me deja vu.
